Me!

Some jobs require MILES of Garland!

Welcome

to my Seasonal Home

My name is Eileen and I am a Wife, Mom of 4, Author, DVD Producer, Public Speaker, Owner of a small Publishing Company and Commercial Holiday Design Firm, which only proves that your passion can turn into a career! (LOL)

Time to place the STAR on top of a 30-foot tree!

I thoroughly enjoy “the ART of decorating around the JOY of celebrating ~ the Holidays, Seasons & Special Times of our lives“™… but on a budget!  As you check out my blog posts, I’m sure you’ll begin to notice that I’m passionate about FAMILY, the SEASONS and HOLIDAYS and that I love to share my creativity, so I hope it inspires you.  🙂

Recently, I wrote & photographed my first book (available in my SHOP).  I also had the help of a brilliant graphic artist and printed it locally, so it’s entirely AMERICAN MADE.  It combines my love of seasonal & holiday design with my own personal, creative, road-tested traditions for celebrating: Holidays, Birthdays, Seasons & EverydayIn today’s hectic and insecure world, I’m a firm believer that it’s a good thing to create fun & happiness for yourself, your loved ones and friends… whenever possible, and in whatever amount suits your style.

I made it my mission to create traditions, seasonal fun & holiday magic for my boys while they were growing up because I knew that would provide them with wonderful memories.  What I didn’t know (at the time) is that it would also grow “ROOTS” of pride, self worth and the value of togetherness.  So often, my grown boys still tell me that they have incredible childhood memories, which continues to be my inspiration to create new traditions, only much more “grown-up” versions like our annual “Family Fun Day” (example below):

CLICK ON THE VIDEO BELOW if you’d like to see just one of the holiday traditions (from my BOOK) come to life….. turn up your speakers!

Other creative projects….

I’m currently working on a very comprehensive Christmas “How To” book, so, please check back for updates on that.  It will  be the most unusual Christmas book you’ve ever seen and will finally de-mystify the art of holiday design for you.
And I just completed my 1st, full-length DVD, titled “Secrets of the Pros… How to Decorate a Christmas Tree”.  It will walk you through the entire process as well as tons of BONUS ideas too.  Here’s some feedback…
I just wanted to let you know that I received the DVD today.  I’ve watched it once already and will watch it again later tonight as I start to get out my decorations.  I love, love, love your ideas!  You are easy to follow and very thorough in explaining the whys and hows of your decorations.  I can’t wait to try out your ideas over the next couple of weeks.  I’m a clod when it comes to decorating but love to do it anyway, and I know I’m going to have a huge improvement this year because of your DVD.  I hope you sell hundreds of these DVDs!  I hope you also consider making more.   Thanks again, best of luck to you, and a wonderful holiday season to you and your family as well!      Sincerely, Melissa

So, that’s my story!  Thanks for stopping by and if you have a moment, please check out my hundreds of blog posts and my little SHOP too

Enjoy the Creativity!

Eileen

    Hi Eileen,

You might not remember me but I helped you(or tried to :() ) with your converter(BHN remember???). I just checked out your Spooky Dinner vid on You Tube and it was GREAT! I passed it on to my sister-in-law and she loved it too! She also liked the Thanksgiving Tablecloth. It’s not something I say to customers often but I’m really glad you were having trouble with your box, otherwise I would never have had the pleasure of “meeting” you. You must have been a wonderful mother! Bravo!

Thank you very much Evan! 🙂 I am so happy to hear that my work is inspiring you AND a potential career… that is SO great! Disney is a great goal. [P.S. They supplement a lot of their holiday decoration at the same wholesaler I use, so we may meet there someday… lol] Either way, something tells me you will absolutely achieve your career goal someday and staying on track is the best advice I can give you to accomplish that. If you saw my very first holiday design (ugh), you would understand that experience, learning from others and trying new things will be your key to success and in developing your holiday style. I wish you all the luck in the world… enjoy the journey!

Thanks Jeannie! Many years ago, I was hired, as an Apprentice seasonal helper by a large, local company. As my skills improved and I learned the art of holiday design, I eventually became a head designer. It was fun and challenging and I had the opportunity to create holiday designs for many of their largest clients, like our local NBA team. After several years, I felt as though I wanted to continue but scale back, so I started my own company. Now, I choose who and how many clients I design for, so it’s perfect!

Eileen, I’ve been through it all & find it to be breath-taking. Remember when
we used to be able to tour your house at Christmas? That was such fun & my friends and I were always amazed. I am just so happy to have such a talented friend and former neighbor.
    HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
    Love you,

    What an adorable puppy.

Could you tell me where you found the toy soldiers/nutcrackers used in your outdoor decorations? I believe the photo’s may have been in 2010.
